Daily journaling has always been a struggle for me.
Regardless of the journaling style, I haven't been able to stick to this practice over a long period.
And that is primarily due to this:
"What should I write in my journal?"
So, when I stumbled upon this new style called the 1–1–1 journal, it caught my attention.
Here's how it works:
At the end of every day, you write these three things on a note:
This format is simple but effective because it specifically asks us what to write and captures actionable information about our lives.
I've been trying this format for some weeks, and although making it a daily habit is still a work in progress, the experience has been well.
Here's an example journal entry from my archives:
It's pretty basic, but looking at accumulated journal entries over a week or a month can tell me the following:
If you're new to journaling or have trouble sticking to this practice, try the 1–1–1 journaling style.
It might be the one that works for you.
