Starting is often the most challenging part of any project.

Even after writing hundreds of articles over the last ten years, I still struggle to start writing on a blank page sometimes.

And I had such an experience when drafting my latest article for the Hulry blog.

I couldn't figure out how to start the blog post. There were so many ideas floating around in my head that it created a productivity jam.

After spending a few minutes confused about how I wanted to frame the article introduction section, I went ahead with whatever sounded best in my head at the time.

I figured there'll always be an opportunity to fix it in the editing stage. But, if I don't move past the intro section, I'll never get to writing the rest of the article.

Sometimes you have to push through with what you have rather than procrastinate in trying to perfect every inch of your work.

And I've faced a different version of this scenario as well.

One where I didn't know what to write in the introduction section at all.

At those times, I wrote "TBD" (To Be Decided) in the intro section and moved on to writing the rest of the article.

I wrote the introduction after I finished writing the article.

So:

The underlying lesson here is not to let a small obstacle derail you from doing your work.

If you're stuck in a part of your work, you can always leave it for later and continue working on what you can at the moment.

Keep making progress. Everything else will fall into its place.

Now, before you move on to the rest of the newsletter, here's a motto that'll change your life:

"Never stop learning."

I believe that through continuous learning, you can sharpen your work skills and also set your personal growth trajectory in an upward direction.

And in that spirit, I've partnered with Growclass this week to bring you their latest course offering.

Around 100,000 of the top websites in the world use keyloggers to silently record everything you type on their websites, even if you don't hit the submit button. So maybe it's a good practice to use masked emails while signing up for services everywhere? P.S.: Hulry practices no such unethical behaviour.

A much-needed reality check on the myth of "making more time". Time is limited and constant. You can't make more time in your days. You can only choose what to spend your time on and what to leave behind.
When Negotiating a Price, Never Bid with a Round Number ➔

6 min read

I've been following the usual practice of rounding up or down a price during a negotiation till now. But, the psychology behind using precise pricing seems genuine. I'll have to try this technique in my next negotiation. What about you? Do you use round numbers, or do you use precise figures?
