Hey there,

I picked up a new iOS superpower this week. 🦸

Magnifying points of interest in a screenshot, like this:

This is super handy to highlight a portion of your captured screenshot before sending it to others.

It works so fantastically that you can even make product demos with this feature.

Here's how to do it:

Open a screenshot or a photo in edit mode and locate the + button beside the markup options:

Tap on it to reveal a popup menu like this:

Use the Magnifier and the Opacity options to highlight a portion of your screenshot or photo and dim the rest.

That's all you need.

Never imagined iOS to have a powerful functionality like this one in-built into the system. 🙏

Any other tricks I should know?

P.S.: Thanks to everyone who supported Hulry on Product Hunt. 🙌

Now, grab a coffee, sit tight, and enjoy this week's issue:

Apps & Services

Bento ➔

The do less to-do app

Bento is a fresh take on to-do apps built up with the concept of Japanese bento boxes in mind. Unlike other to-do apps, the Bento method asks us to limit our tasks to three — large, medium, and small. Create a bento box for each area of your life and assign up to 3 tasks to get done. And then focus on a single task at a time with soothing music and a timer. Available on iOS for a one-time fee of $5.99.
Think in Colour ➔

Understand how you think

Think in Colour is a beautiful web app that helps you understand how you think by answering a set of 15 questions. As you answer each question, a floating 3D object morphs to represent your state of mind. It takes 5–8 minutes and is super fun.
Textomap ➔

Chart a travel map from a block of text

This is an app I'm definitely using to plan my next trip. Textomap lets you plot a travel map from a sentence or a paragraph containing references to real places. This is handy for visualising a travel route by highlighting a piece of text from travel blogs or a rough itinerary sent by a friend. Available for free as a web app and as a Chrome extension.
Mine ➔

Take back your personal data

Mine lets you identify a list of services you had signed up for in the past but no longer use and how to remove your personal information from those services. You can send a data removal notice to any service with a single click and track your requests within the app. Available as a web app and is free to use.
