Hey there,

Have you ever heard the proverb "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer"?

Turns out, this proverb applies not only to money but to all aspects of our life.

It's called the Matthew Effect.

Here's an example:

Have you ever felt more motivated to tackle complex tasks after you've had some easy wins?

This is the Matthew effect in full swing.

The more challenges you overcome, the more confident you become in your abilities to solve or tackle anything.

You can think of it as a snowball phenomenon.

Success attracts success.

Here's how I apply this principle to my life:

Whenever I feel less motivated to tackle a task that requires considerable mental effort, I start with some low-hanging fruits.

For example, if I don't feel like writing an entire article, I start by jotting down my ideas for the article in an informal manner.

Similarly, in software development, if I don't feel like working on a major feature, I look for smaller fixes or changes that I can make to get the ball rolling.

You get the idea.

So:

The next time you don't feel like doing anything or get intimidated by an enormous task, start small.

It'll get easier once you get started.

Now, grab a coffee, sit tight, and enjoy this week's issue:
