Hey there,
I came across a tweet from a friend this week saying that he was diagnosed with dry eye syndrome after he went with a complaint of being tired during the day.
While this is hard to connect, dry eyes syndrome can lead to chronic fatigue syndrome.
It's mind-blowing to know how our body functions are so interconnected.
Now:
Getting dry eyes is shockingly common amongst people staring at screens all day long.
And being someone who works with computers for the better part of the day, I, too, have had my share of dry eye problems.
As a result, I've started following this routine:
- Take breaks from looking at screens every 20 mins or so
- Spend some time in the evening going out or looking outside my balcony
- Stopping work for the day if my eyes are feeling too sore
And these tiny habits have been working out for me so far.
Now:
When you're too engrossed in work, it becomes challenging to remember to take frequent breaks.
In such cases, an app like Intermission helps me remember moving my eyes away from the screen
for a minute every 20 minutes.
Here's a takeaway tip for you:
Don't stare at screens for too long, and take breaks often.
Now, grab a coffee, sit tight, and enjoy this week's issue:
