Hey there,

Apple announced a ton of new features across its product lineup this week at the WWDC virtual conference.

One new feature that I'm excited about the most is the Quick Note feature for macOS and iPadOS.

Here's how it looks on macOS:

Quick Note lets you bring up a little popup window to take notes from the current app you're using on your MacBook or iPad.

On an iPad, you can use the Apple Pencil to swipe up from the bottom right corner to reveal the Quick Note popup.

I was using Tot on macOS until now for this purpose, but since I rely on the Notes app for all my notetaking work, this will be a fantastic feature.

Apart from this:

Focus Modes will be a gamechanger.

You can create custom Focus Modes to only allow notifications from the apps you select — a set of apps for work, a different setting during your gym time.

Here's how it looks on macOS Monterey:

What's better?

Focus Mode will be available for iPhone and iPad too.

Plenty of amazing features coming in the upcoming iOS, iPadOS and macOS versions.

What do you think about the upcoming Apple OS versions? Reply to this email and let me know.

Now, grab a coffee, sit tight, and enjoy this week's issue:

Apps & Services

Osara ➔

Search app actions on macOS

Shortcuts are helpful for quickly performing actions on macOS or apps running in the system. However, too many shortcuts can be hard to remember. Osara brings all actions into a floating search bar that you can use to swiftly search and perform any action the currently active app supports. On browsers like Safari, Osara even lets you search and open a page from your history. Convenient and free macOS app.
Your Week ➔

Plan your current and following week

Sometimes, you only need a place to jot down tasks for your week without wanting to signup for a to-do app or installing one. For those situations, Your Week will be a perfect fit. Open the Your Week app on any browser and start planning your current and next week. To save your tasks in the cloud, you can create an account and have your tasks synced across devices. However, that's not necessary to get started.
Intermission ➔

Regular breaks for your eyes

Staring at your computer screen for a prolonged period can result in dry eyes syndrome. I've suffered from dry eyes before, and it's no fun. Intermission is a macOS app that sits in the menu bar and reminds you to take a 20-sec break after 20 mins of continuous computer use. I've been using this app for a few weeks now, and it has quickly become an indispensable tool for me. Intermission is available for macOS for a $7.99 one-time fee.
Subly ➔

Add beautiful subtitles to your videos

Unlike YouTube, not all platforms offer auto-generated subtitles for your videos. Especially when you're posting videos to social media platforms such as Instagram, your videos might be hard to follow without proper subtitles for some of your audience. Also, generated subtitles don't guarantee 100% accuracy. Subly lets you auto-generate subtitles for your videos embedded in the video itself. You can edit each generated subtitle line to make sure they're accurate. Subly offers 10-min of free subtitle generation per month, and then you can upgrade for $10/month.
