macOS 27 is now available for download, and here are my top 3 features from the list:

1. New Siri & Spotlight

This is, of course, the star feature of this update, and I'm finding real, helpful use cases for it.

For example, I can describe my search query in natural language, and Siri will find what I'm looking for, such as this note:

This will help when we don't remember the full context or title of notes, emails, files, etc.

2) File name suggestions in Finder

Start renaming a file, wait a few seconds, and Finder will suggest relevant names based on the content:

This tiny quality-of-life addition will help organise files better without 3rd-party software.

We can't select multiple files and generate suggestions for them yet, but you can create a shortcut for that.

3) Automatic tab grouping in Safari

Another AI addition I like is how Safari observes the tabs I open and automatically creates named tab groups for them:

Now, the group names aren't always perfect, but this will be handy for any sort of research.

In Today's Cover: Burdock burrs inspired the creation of a product everyone uses today: velcro straps.

P.S.: I've been receiving emails for a while asking whether the early member pricing for the Hulry Plus membership is still available.

While I moved away from the original lifetime membership pricing early this year, I've decided to make the lifetime plan available at a reduced price of $89 one-time instead of the regular $147 through a limited offer.

If you've missed the opportunity to lock in a lifetime membership before, you can use this link to buy the membership at this special price. This discount is valid only for the first 10 people.

Now, if you're in the market for a new note-taking app, have you tried Octarine?

Before you move on to the rest of this newsletter issue, here are a few words from:

Apps & Services

Tweek

A paper-like minimal weekly planner

A beautiful app that closely resembles a standard paper weekly planner. Line up tasks for the week in columns, sync upcoming events from your calendar, add tasks to a Someday bucket and more. You can also connect AI tools to manage your tasks. Available on the Web, iOS and Android and is free to start. Hulry Plus members get flat 30% off on their first year. Flairy

Make your special folders beautiful

Although I’ve used custom folder icons before, what I like about this app is two things: choosing from a library of curated folder designs, and pressing any photo into a folder cutout for your special folders. This helps you immediately locate frequently used folders amidst a sea of many. Available on macOS for free.
Oriko

Clip and organise visuals inside Obsidian

If you collect design samples or other visual clips for reference and inspiration, this plugin will help you create a beautiful pannable and zoomable board of such clips inside your Obsidian vault. Copy a link, create a new clip, and this plugin automatically downloads and saves the relevant assets locally. Available for free for Obsidian.

I recently did an exercise where I identified tasks around Hulry that were necessary, but sapped my energy and left less time to work on the other core tasks, and figured out how to semi-automate them via AI. This piece shares the entire process.

This is a fantastic example of premortem decision-making I’ve seen. We often say “yes” to things we don’t want out of politeness or just to escape the ask for the moment. This one-time, tiny exercise will help you avoid those unwanted commitments in the future.

Although I haven’t been able to stick with meditation over the years, this article was a bit of a mixed bag. I don’t think the actual meditation practice is harmful, but it’s the disconnected expectations and the “fix-it-all” attitude that lead to overdoing this practice and essentially seeing the negative effects. More on it in this piece and in the comments section.
