Issue #209 | Subscribe

When we don't fight each other and instead put our minds to more positive outcomes, humans are capable of mind-boggling achievements.

These achievements show we can dream big, look beyond today, and work together to make the once impossible possible.

And I want to infuse some of that positive awe into this tiny corner of the Internet by celebrating astonishing human inventions and milestones throughout this year.

The newsletter's cover image is the perfect medium to do that, and frequently, you'll see themed covers that highlight such an invention or milestone.

Today's feature is the James Webb Space Telescope, which can gaze into the depths of our Universe and help us expand our knowledge of it.

The telescope has already made stunning discoveries that were previously impossible using the long-standing Hubble Space Telescope, and it is a testament to how far we can reach when we keep our differences aside and work towards a shared goal.

I'll be featuring more of these in the coming weeks, so look out for the cover images in the upcoming newsletter issues.

Now, shifting the narrative to what we can achieve at a personal level, have you had a chance to try Finalist 3?

Before you move on to the rest of this newsletter issue, here are a few words from:

Apps & Services

Space

A workspace to plan and act on your goals

This app has the aesthetics and simplicity of Things 3, but brings with it a set of modern scheduling features, such as an embedded calendar to help plan your to-do lists by dragging and dropping them onto your calendar. Available on iOS and macOS for $49.99/year. Hulry Plus members get flat 30% off on their first year. Become a member to access more deals like this.
Fizzy

A fun Kanban app for all your projects

Like other Basecamp products, this one is a fresh and fun take on existing software — kanban boards. It isn’t bloated like many of its competitors (*cough* Jira), and I like the Auto Prune feature that automatically moves inactive cards to a Not Now section after 30 days or your preferred duration. Available on the Web for free.
DockPops

Add app folders to your Mac's dock

This app brings iOS app folders to macOS. You can create “pops” or folders with apps, files and directories for your frequently used tools and add them to your Mac’s dock. I especially liked the Open All feature, which lets you quickly launch apps in a collection. Available on macOS and is free to start.

Pull the Andon Cord

I love this idea of having an Andon cord in your work process. It ensures you're producing stellar work, and the marginal gains you make daily reduce the need to pull the Andon cord less and less every day.
