With every update, Google Search becomes less of a search engine that helps us find interesting, helpful websites to an answer engine that displays summarised information in every possible format.

AI overviews, videos, knowledge graph, products and shopping suggestions, and the sponsored links disguised as organic search results, are everything we must cross to get to the ranked web links.

Sometimes, this gathered upfront information helps, but often, I crave the organic ten-blue links that used to make up a Google Search results page.

Thankfully, though, there's a search mode that strips away all these extra accompaniments and presents the search page in the minimal layout we used to know Google Search for.

It's the Web view, and it's a bit hidden under the more options dropdown:

But there's an easier approach.

You can directly open this cleaner search results mode by appending the URL parameter &udm=14 to the Google Search URL:

I know, manually modifying the Google Search URL every time is a hassle.

So, when you want cleaner search results, you can use a tool like this one as an interface to Google search.

Or, if you use Raycast, you can make this process automatic by creating a Quicklink in this format:

Then, instead of doing a Google search from your browser, you can use Raycast, which will take you directly to that clean Web search view:
