It's been in the works for some time now, and I'm excited to introduce a new series on Hulry — Trailblazers.

Remember reading a good biography or story about another person and feeling inspired to do something yourself or picking up lessons that helped you in your life or work?

I'm taking a similar route with this series.

I'll pick notable people who have done something remarkable in their fields, like inventing a new product, technique or way of life — the pioneers — and do a deep dive into parts of their lives, highlighting and connecting everyday lessons from their stories.

The first person on the list is Momofuku Ando, the man behind instant ramen and cup noodles.

If you've ever eaten instant noodles, this story will feel extra special — a peek behind the curtain — showing the incredible journey of Ando, what led to the invention of instant noodles and all the ingenious tactics he leveraged to make instant noodles a global food.

By the time I was done researching this story, I craved a bowl of hot instant ramen so badly that I went straight into the kitchen to make some. 🤣

Even if you haven't tasted instant ramen, this story highlights many everyday lessons you'll relate to and can add to your life.

After this, I have a few other immediate prospects on my list (more to come):

  1. Andy Puddicombe: Founder of Headspace and a former Buddhist monk.
  2. John D. Rockefeller: Founder of Standard Oil and one of America's biggest business magnates.
  3. Andy Grove: Former CEO of Intel and the man who popularised OKRs.

Vote for the person you'd like to see a profile next, and I'll pick the person with the most votes for the next story: Vote Here.

If you'd like to nominate someone for this Trailblazers series that's not on the above list, reply to this email with your nomination.
