Far too often, we prioritise "fitting in" over "belonging" in our daily lives.

We spend too much time moulding ourselves to the ways of others to feel accepted in a friends circle, a club, on social media or even at work.

But what if, instead of trying to fit in somewhere that doesn't intrinsically make you happy, you tried finding places where you belong?

For example, over the years, my friend circle has changed because I stopped making efforts to fit in with friends with whom I don't feel a connection and felt like I was trying too hard to keep the conversation going.

On the other hand, I've found comfort in belonging in circles where people share my views, are less judgemental, and are more cosy to talk with and feel happy.

Trying to fit in saps our energy and leaves us feeling unsatisfied and inadequate. Belonging to a group or a community makes us feel more lively and human.

What about you?

Have you found yourself getting swept up in an invisible race of fitting in with the trends or the popular?

What if you spent that energy and effort finding groups, people, and places where you felt like you belonged effortlessly?

Something for you to ponder over this weekend.

Now, let's move on to the rest of this newsletter issue:

Why We Sleep

Sleep is a vital process that ensures our mind and body function optimally. But we often sacrifice good sleep in the name of productivity, running the universal hustle race. It's time to rethink the importance of sleep.

Apps & Services

Proton Drive

A privacy-friendly Google Drive alternative

Google and privacy don't mix well. If you're looking for snoop-free cloud storage for your personal or business files, give Proton a try. Their security and privacy have been well-known for years, and they recently rolled out Proton Docs, too. Available on the Web and most major platforms and is free to start.
iCloud Kicker

Force sync iCloud when it's stuck

iCloud sync is excellent, but sometimes, the sync can take some time to resume. This app lets you "kick start" the sync at the press of a button. Available on macOS for free.
Pure

A preview-less camera app

Okay, this might be more of a fun app rather than being something of utility, but I like the idea. We often spend too much time getting the right framing, and this app takes all those optimisations out. Point and shoot. Available on iOS and is free for basic use.
